The Khia Asylum confirms that on January 19, 2026, resident Bebe Rexha was reported missing from her assigned area within the facility. Ms. Rexha had previously been documenting her stay publicly through daily TikTok videos, including commentary on the length of her confinement and her desire to leave.
Shortly after her absence was noted, facility staff reviewed internal CCTV footage. The footage showed Ms. Rexha running through a restricted corridor and moving toward the outer perimeter of the grounds. Based on this information, standard search and safety protocols were immediately activated.
A coordinated search party was deployed across the asylum grounds and surrounding perimeter. Additional CCTV footage later confirmed Ms. Rexha attempting to exit through the outside gates without authorization. Guards were dispatched to the location.
Ms. Rexha was safely captured by security personnel, as shown in subsequent CCTV recordings, and returned to the facility without injury. The footage documents guards intercepting her near the gates and escorting her back inside.
Following the incident, increased security measures were implemented. Ms. Rexha has been placed in a secured cell and is currently housed with fellow resident Ava Max. This action was taken in accordance with internal containment and safety procedures.
